Jesus
It’s for Sinners
“[There was] an old Scottish preacher who, as he was serving the bread and wine of the Lord’s Supper, noticed a young girl sobbing at the communion rail. As he passed her the bread, visible sign of the body of the Lord Jesus (’I give it for the life of the world,’ He said) the girl turned away her face, which was wet with tears.
“‘Tak’ it, lassie,’ said the old man. ‘It’s for sinners.’”

Like Little Children
Today I read a post by John Piper’s son, Abraham Piper, who wrote that his son was enthralled by the fact that his homemade tomb for Jesus was empty this morning.
It reminded me. My mom teaches Sunday school to toddlers. One morning she taught about the story of the lost sheep. She gave each child a paper cup filled with cotton balls - to represent sheep.
Later we heard from his mother that one little boy took his “sheep” to bed with him that night. In the middle of the night he woke up and somehow realized that he had lost one of them. He was so upset that he went and woke his mother up, and they had to search through his sheets and around his bed until they were able to find the missing “sheep.”
Becoming jaded is all too easy. But He is the one who makes all things new, and who teaches us to see like little children.
What a miracle: He is risen!
