Still Cooking: 32 Weeks + 1 Day

32weeks2

I’m reaching a mentally challenging point. Being in the “thirties” makes birth seem so much closer, yet I still have such a long way to go. Almost two months is quite a bit of time. I’m trying to settle in and enjoy pregnancy without getting antsy, because at this point in my pregnancy with Christian I still had nine weeks to go!

I have been sick this week, so my update is a day late.

Size of baby: I had an ultrasound a week ago Monday, and she was measuring 3 lbs. 14 oz., which the tech said was right on track.

Total weight gain: 20 lbs. In case you’re keeping track, that’s 5 lbs. in two weeks. I’m just so thrilled…

Maternity clothes: I’m wishing I had left this question out… what is there to say about maternity clothes every week? Except that yes, they all still fit.

Movement: She’s been a little on the sleepy side today, but she’s still consistent. I started to wonder if she’s moved from being head down. I have been feeling kicks in a different spot. I hope not.

Sleep: I’ve had a lot of insomnia the past two weeks. I always think losing sleep with a newborn is better than losing sleep while pregnant, because at least then you’re not pregnant. I don’t have stamina to begin with when I’m pregnant and losing sleep makes it worse.

What I miss: Being able to snuggle Christian without his little sister in the way.

Cravings: Hmm… I’m currently craving chocolate, but that hasn’t been a consistent thing.

Symptoms: Nausea, unfortunately.

What I am looking forward to: The month of August. It’s looking like it will be pretty busy and I’m hoping it keeps my mind off the constant countdown.

Milestone(s): I read that babies have a big growth spurt between 32 and 36 weeks. I’m excited to think about all the important growing and developing going on in there.

Best moment this week: There have been two babies born since my last update, one in my church and one to a blog friend. They’re both adorable and it’s been so fun seeing their Facebook updates and looking forward to my own little one’s arrival!

“seem so much closer, yet I still have such a long way to go” Almost my exact words to describe being in the “thirties” as well!!

Oh, the countdown is on! She will be here before you can blink, and then you’ll be a few months away from her first birthday. Oh wait, that’s ME! I still feel like I just had a baby yesterday, seriously. How is it August already? How is there only 4 months left of 2011? How is it we get older every year instead of younger??? ;)
Hope the nausea lifts, soon. If it’s anywhere near as hot down there as it is here, I feel for you. I can’t even fathom being pregnant this summer, it’s been brutal…You are wonder woman! Hoping to get Miss E’s little doodad in the mail before she, you know, gets here. ;)

Thanks, friend! :-) It has been really hot, but it’s not as bad as I was expecting. A/C makes a big difference, and I just drink a ton of water when I go out (which, to be honest, isn’t often).

I read the title and thought “wow, she’s already at 32 weeks!” I know what you mean about the 30s feel like you’re practically ready. I hope you’re not melting in the heat!

You look gorgeous! I’ve been a reader for a bit but have never commented. I linked your posts about homemaking in my post today :)

Thank you, Katie, and thank you for commenting! :-D

Oh, it’s getting close! I sure hope the heat isn’t killer for you either, girl! I’d croke if I was preggers this summer, for sure!

God will give you strength!! <3

You are so cute! I pray you are able to sleep better soon! :)

The 30’s are a hard mindset for me, too! You look great!

You look adorable! Perfect for 32 weeks. :-)

[...] I’m still having some insomnia, but not quite as badly as I was before my last update. Last week I got three full nights in a row. That was [...]
