Baby Cantaloupe: 34 Weeks

Now I’m starting to wish I hadn’t started the biweekly pictures. I’m not a fan of watching myself get progressively larger, not to mention my face getting puffier (a third trimester side effect I’d totally forgotten about).

But things are going well overall. Smile

Size of baby: The average size for a baby this age is almost 5 pounds, like a cantaloupe. That seriously puts it into perspective. No wonder I don’t enjoy bending over to pick up Christian’s toys.

Total weight gain: 23 lbs. This is why I like to gain slowly until the third trimester.

Maternity clothes: All right, I’m starting to get tired of them and they just don’t fit as well as they did in the second trimester.

Movement: I really don’t remember Christian being this active. I love it. She moves all the time and kicks me in the ribs constantly. It’s nice and reassuring.

Sleep: I’m still having some insomnia, but not quite as badly as I was before my last update. Last week I got three full nights in a row. That was amazing.

What I miss: I have to admit, the main things I miss right now are my normal stomach and not continually gaining weight.

Cravings: Twizzlers and sweets in general. Not good.

Symptoms: Ever-increasing nausea.

What I am looking forward to: My sister coming to visit in two weeks!

Milestone(s): 34 weeks is a great “early term” milestone. The vast majority of babies born between 34 and 37 weeks survive, and most go on to have no long-term problems. That encourages me so much thinking that if she was born right now, she’d probably be just fine.

Best moment this week: Being given three big bags of 0-9-month baby girl clothes by a family from our church. They are all so cute and I am so blessed by them!

I think you look wonderful! I’m pretty sure that by 34 weeks with both of mine I’d already gained 30+ pounds, so you get no sympathy from me. Hehe ;) I finally got a padded envelope, so HOPEFULLY by the end of next week you’ll be getting a little somethin’ in the mail!

You look fabulous! I’m in week 29 with my third pregnancy, and I my bump is already much bigger than yours…and I’m up 35 pounds already. Much more weight, much bigger size this third time around!

You look so adorable!!!! Ready for the home stretch :-)

You look great! I love your positive attitude and I sympathize with your feelings about weight gain. That’s been the hardest part of my pregnancy so far. I’ve never see the scales hit such high numbers before, but it’s worth it to know that our babies are healthy!

You look great! I think third trimester bellies are the cutest. :-) Yay for getting lots of girl clothes hand-me-downs too!

Your lookin’ good, Mama!! Not too much longer… although it seemed those last few weeks go sooooo slllloooow, for me anyways. ;)

You’re looking great! I guess this is the happiest kind of weight gain, but I think it must be odd watching the number on the scales get bigger than ever. Someday your baby girl is going to love looking back at these pictures and seeing how pretty and positive her mama looked when she was carrying her – I think it’s lovely that you have such a record of pictures!

Blessings!

how can you wish you weren’t taking pictures? you’re SO cute! you’ll be glad you have those–or at least your kids will. I wish I had photos of my mom when she was pregnant! :)

You look great! I am jealous…wish I was 34 weeks. So tired of being pregnant and so ready to meet my girl! :)

I am so excited to see you too!!!! I can’t wait :D
