I Want to Be Like Her

In my imagination, I lived in India and China and Africa growing up. Reading biographies of faithful women impacted my heart. I still resonate with their stories today, even more in some senses.

Who are some of your favorite Christian women to read about?

I’m going to have to read about Ann Judson!

I love her! I linked to a biography about her that is sooo good. I need to read it again.

all the one you have listed here :-) Such great women after God’s own heart!

Great choices! I think I would add Elizabeth Prentiss, too. And Zwingli’s wife.

Definitely Amy Carmichael, Corrie ten Boom and Susannah Spurgeon. Also Betsy ten Boom. When I was younger I also resonated with the stories of Katherine Luther and Queen Victoria. In more recent years, I’ve loved the stories of Catherine Booth (in spite of some differences of opinion in the area of the role of women!) and Maria Taylor. I’m so grateful for those who have gone before us and left an example of godly womanhood for us to follow!

Most of my favorites have already been named here, but I’d add Lilas Trotter and Mary Slessor to the list!

How could I forget Lilias Trotter? Love her!
