How to Have a Happy Monday
1. Tidy up the night before. Who wants to wake up to a pile of dirty dishes and messes everywhere? Monday morning can be enough of a letdown without clutter to tackle.
2. Have a plan for the week. I’m not talking about a spreadsheet, but take a look at the calendar, jot down some tasks to get done, and have a general idea of what the week will look like.
3. Go outside! It’s spring, it’s beautiful, and vitamin D is a natural mood-lifter.
It’s worth noting that this post is meant to be a little tongue-in-cheek, since I didn’t follow any of my own advice this morning (or last night). Color me overwhelmed as, after a weekend of too little sleep, I’m facing a messy house today!
I’m excited to join the 31 Days to Clean challenge this month at Joyful Mothering. Today is the first day. Thanks to Sarah Mae’s generosity, I received a free copy of the ebook by tweeting about it a few days ago! Yay!
I’ll be blogging about the challenge each Thursday or Friday this month. Each “day” focuses on a Mary challenge (the heart of homemaking) and a Martha challenge (the action of homemaking).
I’m eager to get my home in better order before Baby Two arrives, and this challenge is coming at a perfect time.
What do you do to have a happy Monday?
So, so true about picking up the night before. We had our house clean for a showing yesterday and it makes the first of the week so much brighter. Looking forward to your posts!
I concur! I always have plenty of plans…it’s follow through that’s the challenge. There seems to always be some obstacle!
Number one is SO true. Starting any day with a generally tidied house just makes the day go better. I’m doing the challenge, too and am excited about it. Perfect for spring cleaning!

That sounds like cool challenge! And good tips for Mondays . . . I could follow those better myself, but the de-cluttering tip is so true! I always feel so much better if things are straightened up.
