I wish I could say that was a picture of my books (more because I like the room they’re in!). I do have a lot though.
I wish I could start a reading list. Normally I just go one book at a time. Whatever I feel like reading, I read. ![]()
Have you read John Owen before? I think I’ll try soon, but I’ve always been told he’s pretty hard to read.
I haven’t read John Owen yet. My husband reads him, and he suggested I try to tackle one this year.
WOW. The only book I have on my reading list is my Bible. I might pick up a few books here or there, (besides board books!) but I can’t begin to imagine time to sit and have a good read.
Don’t know why it linked my name to my bow website.. oh well. ha.
I still manage to squeeze in the time… I’m a fast reader so that helps! We like to read in the evenings after Christian goes to bed. I end up wasting time on the computer a lot instead, so part of the reason for making this list is to make sure I have reading goals.
I loved Treasuring God in Our Tradition sand The Hidden Art of Homemaking! I don’t have a list for this year, but am reading “Speaking Truth in Love,” “An Omnivore’s Dilemma,” “The Ministry of Motherhood” and for fiction, just got “The Forgotten Garden.”
OOooO! I love Jane Austen! I also have J.I. Packer’s “Knowing God” on my reading list this year too!
Great list! I am trying to read more non-fiction/Christian living books this year. I LOVE fiction and go through it soo quickly but it’s more of a struggle for me to finish non-fiction.
Love the Jane Austen picks. I bought both of those books 2 years ago and STILL haven’t read them! Maybe it’s time I dusted them off!
I used to read almost all fiction, but since I’ve gotten married I’ve been influenced to read better… specifically nonfiction.
I bought Northanger Abbey a few years ago too and never read it. I’m excited to read it. I read The Mill on the Floss by George Eliot this past year and found it similarly intriguing.
My mom just bought the Mill on the Floss for me! I hope to read it soon.
Have you ever read the Heir of Redclyffe by Charlotte Yonge? Apparently it’s really good.
I just joined a reading challenge for this year, and my goal is a whopping 3 books. But it’s a goal! Mission of Motherhood (Sally Clarkson), Ministry of Motherhood (same) and Having a Mary Spirit by Joanna Weaver.
[...] failed dismally at my 2011 reading list. (Out of 18 books, I finished 7.) I blame it on getting pregnant at the beginning of the year, [...]

Yay, you’re back! Is that a picture of all your books? You have a good collection! Looks like a good list of books to read – I made a list to read for 2010 and I failed at accomplishing it, so I’m not sure I’m going to make one this year . . . maybe I’ll just continue with last year’s list. Ha!
