I used a Moby with my daughter. I would only suggest it for when the baby is very young though. I have heard great things about the Ergo carrier so I plan to try that with my next baby!

I use a piece of cloth called a lappa. The technique goes something like this: You bend 90 degrees at the waist and stick the baby on your back, one leg on either side. The baby holds on for dear life (some sort of innate survival mechanism, I suppose…) Cross the top ends of the fabric under the baby’s arms and in the front over your chest and tuck in the ends. Bunch up the rest of the cloth under the baby’s bum and do the same with the bottom ends. Stand up, and voila. Oh, I have an Ergo carrier and love it…. I have not used mine enough for a newborn yet to say how it works for that but I have used it for my older one. I actually used it for the first five months of this last pregnancy ~ Yes, I pushed my toddler in the stroller and carried my year old little one in the carrier for walks and it actually relieved my back pain! However, I have seen the moby carriers in action and think they are great too for newborns ( I haven’t seen them used for bigger babies)! I have made nursing clothes for myself and am still figuring out what works best for me… my only opinion is to start with whatever you want to do from the beginning and do it at home often too ~ because babies don’t like to be covered in public if they are not used to it (especially around 3-7 months depending on your babies personality and my first one always got soooo very hot and sweaty when nursing that… anyway!)

You’ll never regret having a nursing cover! I have a cheap nursing “cape” from target and used it many times with both my kids and loved the fact that I could nurse anywhere!:)

I made my ring sling, but there are abundant ones to choose from online. Just get minimal padding. A Maya Wrap would be a good example if you’re ordering retail.

I had a baby carrier that was an evenflo or something like that. Hardly ever used it. But now that I will be keeping up with two kiddos I might get one of those hammock like slings for Micah when he is little. I can’t remember the brand that my friend had and liked…

As for a nursing cover, I always nursed at home or in a women’s dressing room/bathroom so since I didn’t nurse in public, I didn’t need a cover up.
