The snow is not yet on the pumpkin.

A guest post dictated by my sister Kayla.
Hello, everyone. That may be a lame way to start a post, but I have to start it some way. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I sure did.
You know, there’s something special about this time of year. And no, I will not go into a long chorus of “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” even though it is running through my head, because that would be… um, well… you can think of an adjective.
But there’s something that stirs in my heart at the rustling of the leaves and the hint of snow in the air. Makes me feel sorry for people who live in warm places like Florida and California, who don’t get to experience all the wonder that this season offers.
Okay, I will change the tone of this post now, before I lose any more readers. I want to encourage all of you out there who are diligent in holding steadfast to your goal of not listening to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Because I know it’s difficult. And the pressures around you build as the day approaches.
But friends, I believe that we can stand strong and hold out – yes, I will confess I have sung one or two carols already. Not to their completion! But “one cannot go forward while constantly looking back.” (I don’t remember who said that.)
So take these last few weeks before the time comes and really enjoy them, because they are the last weeks of fall. (Was that lame?) Enjoy them.
And instead of the “Merry Christmas” carols, try to think along the lines of the poem by someone about the frost being on the punkin, and the fodder in… something. I don’t know what fodder is. But it sounds fall-y. And I think it will help distract you from “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” Thank you for reading, and happy autumn.

He-he. I confess, I’ve already sung “God rest ye merry gentleman” several times, and “Hark the herald” once or twice. I couldn’t help myself! I think it would help if perhaps I knew a Thanksgiving song. I tried making one up about a turkey, but was rather unsuccessful.
This was great…I enjoyed this guest post!
I must confess that it will probably not be too hard to keep from singing Christmas carols….I don’t like it when people start singing them way too early. Although I do have to sing them early because I’m working on our church’s Christmas program. But it’s against my will.
Tori, I found out today that I have to sing them early for a similar reason. So the timing of this post was quite ironic.
I loved Kayla’s guest post!! She’s so funny and wonderful! =) Do you know if she’s going to start her blog back up again any time soon?
Isn’t she? She is having some technical difficulties with that! I hope so!
Aw thanks guys.
