Walking with the Lord

Music is a gift.

Imagine a world without music. To me it’s almost impossible. Music is a gift. It shows the glory, creativity, and graciousness of God. I love how music can express innumerable facets of the human experience, including God’s revelation of Himself to us. For me sometimes music speaks when my words fail. It enriches life, encapsulates emotions, and provides a pathway for worship.

“I will sing of steadfast love and justice; to You, O Lord, I will make music.” (Ps. 101:1)

I like how John Piper talks about the role singing plays in the life of a believer. He says, “We have two great weapons in worship: the Word of God and song. So let us give heed to the Word of God and let us sing with all our heart.”

Whether it’s singing, listening, or playing, partaking of the Lord’s gift of music as unto Him is a privilege!

I agree! Music is an incredible part of God’s creation.

Do you play an instrument?

I used to play the piano and the violin, which is why I related to the violin picture, I guess. :-)

It’s scary to think of a world without music indeed– it can touch to your soul and fill you with joy while you praise the Creator!
