Autumn Roads

I can’t help it. I have to do the obligatory beginning of autumn post, complete with a few apropos images, of course. (I’m even listening to Jon Foreman’s Fall album – he has a mini album named after each season, and they are really good.)

Fall feels inspiring. It seems full of beginnings, even more than spring; perhaps because for the past several years, most things have ended rather than begun in the spring for me. Today I was reminded of some of the small gifts God brings into my life, and how I should respond to those things with gratitude. They bring me joy, and although I do want all of my joy to begin and end in the Lord, it is right to find joy in His gifts as well. Little things like hot apple cider with cinnamon… mornings that tingle my nose with their crispness… telling my preschoolers about God’s creation (enthused at this knowledge, they rush to show me blades of grass and dry leaves that crumble at my touch)… sunshine warming our faces at midday… the scent of a bonfire wafting in at night, smoky and pungent… all tiny hints of our great Creator’s glory, kindness, and gracious condescension.

Blessed be His glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with His glory! Amen and Amen!
(Psalm 72:19)

Ah…Jon Foreman…still pretty much the only thing I’ve been listening to lately! Fall is easily my favourite season. I really enjoy everything about it. Thanks for the reminder of how it points to our creative Creator!

I am actually starting to come round to autumn. Before, I used to dread it as it meant the end of summer and the lead up to winter, my least favourite time of year. But actually, there is something quite special about autumn…. I also love Jon Foreman’s EPs! I have all of them apart from summer (ironic as it is my favourite season).

Yes….indeed Fall is my favorite season. I love chilly weather, walks in the crisp morning air, drinking apple cider, and all of the wonderful things associated with it. :)

Fall and Spring– my two favorite seasons. It is interesting, though, that school ends in spring and begins in fall. :)

I have resisted the urge, thus far, to blog on fall, and I’ll try to keep that up, though I’m sure I’ll succumb to the Thanksgiving type post.

Fall! yes please! The leaves are just starting to turn here in the mountains and it is beautiful! I love the feeling of walking outside in the morning and feeling crisp, cool air brush against my arms. I also love that it is a time of change as I crave variety. As for that music never heard of him before, definitely going to have to check it out.

Beautiful pictures Anna! Amazing to think fall is here again but we are feeling it full swing here in NYC! That heavier look in the gray sky, the chill in the air, leaves changing and Halloween stuff filling the stores say that yup, it’s fall!:)

Hi Anna! :) I found your blog through the KSN, and I just love your simple and heartfelt writing style. Thank you for sharing your visions of fall… reading them is a well-needed reminder of all the simple, beautiful things around us. :)

I love Jon Foreman’s album as well! Spring would have to be my favourite, though.
