Yeah! I love summer!

Yahoo! It’s about time I thought winter would never, ever leave

I saw my first firefly last August when I visited my cousins in Indiana. We don’t really have fireflies where I live.

I like the movie Firefly, though. And I actually hate summer, but I’m happy for you.

your not kidding. and were here up in the north west.. holy cow its hot!!

Wish we had fireflys here…

When my siblings and I were little we would have firefly catching competitions against my parents after it got dark. The team that lost had to make breakfast in bed for the winner.

Did you get enough together to make a flashlight and set it beside your bed as a nightlight? Remember those days?
We just heard the cicadas for the first time this weekend, that always marks the beginning of real summer for me!

“greenchickadee,” I only caught one, and I let it go right after that. I never had enough to make a flashlight, either. I didn’t really like bringing them inside for some reason.

I feel sad for those of you who don’t live in firefly country.

I got to stay in New Jersey once and was able to catch some. They are just so beautiful on summer nights! We just dont have any out west. Consider yourself lucky!
