The Emerging Church and Obama

A couple of links: the first related to evangelicals, the emerging church, abortion, and Obama; the second a great review of the forthcoming book Why We’re Not Emergent.

Thanks for these links. I’ve been thinking a lot about the emergent politics viz a vie Obama and fetal rights, so I’m looking forward to reading these.

So interesting that you brought this up. I’ve been wondering/reading about the emergent church some after getting on a series of blogs. (Surfing. That I was.) Its so interesting…and I find it scary. sad. how else do I say it? I’m still learning about it. I think the church needs to become aware, because whether we identify it as emergent/emerging or not…its creeping in…steady and sure.

I found this interesting-

Why read someone else’s commentary on Barack Obama, when you can go right to the source at http://www.barackobama.com?

The blog regarding “Evangelicals for Obama? is misleading and one-sided. The author writes from one evangelical perspective. The blog, like many, is based on a false premise: that evangelicals are alike in their values. Evangelicals are actually a very diverse bunch. That blog only represents one particular piece of the pie. And I don’t agree.
