So how did it go? I must admit some bible envy of my own. I did have an "Open Bible" Study Edition in the New King James Version, beautiful gray leather and index tabbed.

*sighs*

Unfortunately I found it disappeared around the time I had to be rushed to the hospital in October due to pneumonia & a heart attack. I've had it since around 1989-1992 and I found that they no longer produce it. What a shame, loved the study notes, but especially loved the in line references and alternate translations rather than the center column method.

Mine wasn't a personal size though...it was large/extra large and though it was heavy, lugged it around for 20 years, even when ultra light hiking and sacrificed food and other items to carry it.

Oh well, have an old KJV compact that I've had since the early 80's I found in a box and it will have to do for a while.

Good luck on finding your dream bible. :)

I e-mailed Kaysie about this, but just in case someone else wants to know, the link is <a href="http://www.amazon.com/NASB-Compact-Reference-Bible-N/dp/0310918871" rel="nofollow">here</a>.

Hey Anna, I know this is a little random (and late), but I was wondering if you ever found the link to the Bible your friend uses. I have been looking for a more compact Bible and wanted to check out both of my favorite versions (the NASB and ESV) and see my options. No problem if you can't find it, I was just wondering (and your description made me envious too! :) )

I've been trying to find the perfect compact Bible too. We were looking over the weekend but the stores were so crazy, I decided to look online. I did see the one in your post, though, and I think I'm going to pre-order it. :)

It can be hard to find the perfect sized Bible, so it's always nice when you find just the right translation in just the right size and color.

It seems like whenever I've been looking for a new Bible, though, someone I know always turns out to have just what I'm looking for, and for some reason or another it can't be ordered anymore. *sigh*

I had a this Bible (http://tinyurl.com/ystmlo) in KJV and was dying to switch over to NKJV. I need it packed with references and I need it in personal size.

The print is a bit small for most people but it is okay by me.

What is truly awesome is that the weekend after I got it, I went to a friend's church and found out that my dear friend had the same exact Bible.
